রক্তচক্ষু! পশ্চিমবঙ্গের নাটকের দলকে ‘না’ করে দিলেন দুলিয়াজান-তিনসুকিয়ার আয়োজকরা

২১ নভেম্বরঃ এক পক্ষ বলছে, ‘পরিস্থিতি অনুকূল নয়।’ আরেক পক্ষের বক্তব্য, ‘বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে বাইরের কোনও দলের বাংলা নাটক করাটা অসুবিধেজনক।’ তাই অসমে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের নাট্যদলের অনুষ্ঠান বাতিলই করে দেওয়া হল।

তিনসুকিয়া ও দুলিয়াজান– দুই জায়গায় চারদিন নাটক করার জন্য কথাবার্তা প্রায় চূড়ান্ত করে নিয়েছিল পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ‘পূর্বরঙ্গ’। প্রথমে দুলিয়াজান থিয়েটার ফেস্টিভ্যাল ৮ ডিসেম্বর  তাদের ‘সীতায়ন’ নাটকটির জন্য চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়েছিল। একই নাটকের জন্য নিখিল ভারত বঙ্গ সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি সম্মেলনের তিনসুকিয়া শাখার সঙ্গে কথাবার্তা চূড়ান্ত হয়। ৯ ডিসেম্বর হবে তাদের ব্যবস্থাপনায়। তিনসুকিয়ার আরেক সংস্থার সঙ্গেও কথাবার্তা প্রায় চূড়ান্ত হয়ে গিয়েছিল। ১০-১১ দুদিন তাঁরা নাটকটি করাতে চাইছিল। কিন্তু সদিয়ায় ৫ বাঙালি খুনের পর তারা আর এগোয়নি। পিছিয়ে যায় দুলিয়াজান থিয়েটার ফেস্টিভ্যাল এবং তিনসুকিয়া নিখিল বঙ্গও। বাংলা নাটক করানোর সাহস পাচ্ছেন না আয়োজকরা।

তাই খোলামেলা দুলিয়াজান ফেস্টিভ্যাল কমিটি এসএমএস করে জানিয়ে দিয়েছে, বিশেষ অসুবিধের দরুন আমরা এই বছরের উতসবে নাটকটি করাতে পারছি না। তবে আশ্বাস দেয়, আগামী বছরের উতসবে নিশ্চিতভাবেই আপনাদের আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হবে। তিনসুকিয়ার নিখিল ভারত বঙ্গ সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি সম্মেলন প্রথমে জানায়, পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হওয়ার অপেক্ষায় রয়েছেন তাঁরা। পরে চিঠি পাঠিয়ে বলে, অতিথিরা সমস্যায় পড়লে আমাদের খারাপ লাগবে। তাই বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে বাইরের কোনও দলের নাটক না করারই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন তাঁরা।

তবে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের থিয়েটার গ্রুপ ‘পূর্বরঙ্গ’ এর মধ্যে কোনও রাজনীতি দেখতে পাচ্ছে না। সংস্কৃতির জায়গায় অসমিয়া-বাঙালি বিরোধ তীব্র হয়ে উঠেছে, এমনটাও মনে করছে না তারা। নির্দেশক মলয় রায় বলেন, ৫ বাঙালি খুনের পরও সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মীরা ঘাবড়াননি। কিন্তু গুয়াহাটিতে শানের ঘটনা তাঁদের চিন্তায় ফেলে দেয়।

তিনি অসমে যে আগেও বিভিন্ন সময়ে নাটক করেছেন, এর উল্লেখ করে বলেন, ডিগবয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। উত্তরীয় পরিয়ে সবাইকে সংবর্ধনা দেওয়া হয়েছিল। সারা ভারতে এত নাটক করেও এমন সংবর্ধনা কোথাও পাননি। তাঁর আশা, বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিও স্বাভাবিক হয়ে উঠবে।

তবে কানাঘুষো রয়েছে, সরকারি নির্দেশেই দুলিয়াজান থিয়েটার ফেস্টিভ্যালে পূর্বরঙ্গের নাটক বাতিল করা হয়েছে। তবে দুলিয়াজান থিয়েটার ফেস্টিভ্যালে বাংলা নাটক হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রেস উপদেষ্টা ঋষিকেশ গোস্বামী। তাঁর কথায়, ৬ ডিসেম্বর শেষশিক্ষা নামে বাংলা নাটকই হচ্ছে। তাও পরিবেশনায় কলকাতারই নাট্যদল গোবরদঙ্গ মৃদঙ্গম। ফেস্টিভ্যালের সম্পাদক পবিত্র চেতিয়া পূর্বরঙ্গ সম্পর্কে মন্তব্য করতে চাননি। শুধু বলেন, তিনসুকিয়ার সঙ্গে তাদের কোনও সমস্যা হতে পারে। দুলিয়াজানে কিছু নয়।

November 21: The Duliajan Theatre Festival is scheduled from December 8-11. Renowned theatre group from West Bengal named ‘Purbaranga’ was invited to stage one of their most popular play ‘Sitayan’ in this Theatre Festival on 8 December. Moreover Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitto O Sanskriti Sammelan also invited ‘Purbaranga’ to perform ‘Sitayan’ at Tinsukia on 9 December. However, when everything was finalised, the play was all of a sudden cancelled by the organisers.

It was learnt that Assam Government asked the organisers of the festival to cancel the Bengali play on the ground of safety and security of the performers. The organisers have sought apology from Malay Ray, the Director of the play. The decision might have been taken in the backdrop of merciless killing of 5 Bengalis at Tinsukia a few days back. In a letter addressed to Mr. Roy, Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitto O Sanskriti Sammelan wrote that the atmosphere of the area was not conducive to the staging of a Bengali play. On the other hand, the organisers of Duliajan Theatre Festival sent a SMS to inform Mr. Ray that their show has been cancelled.

The organisers were more afraid because a few days back renowned Bollywood singer Shaan was insulted at Guwahati on singing a Bengali song. As such, keeping in mind the local sentiments, the organisers have reportedly cancelled the staging of a Bengali play.

In an exclusive telephonic conversation with way2barak, Malay Ray, the Director of the play said that he does not see any politics over here. Moreover, he stressed that few years back his team performed at Digboi in Assam, where they received warm hospitality. But he added that the killing of the Bengalis at Tinsukia and the incident which happened with Shaan probably made the organisers tensed.

Though the play ‘Sitayan’ by the group ‘Purbaranga’ earned them laurels when it was staged at the Theatre Olympics held in New Delhi this year, but unfortunately Duliajan Theatre Festival has disallowed it in Assam. However, that does not mean that the Theatre Festival is cancelled. The festival will go on as per the schedule, except the Bengali play.

Meanwhile Hrishikesh Goswami, the Press Adviser of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal informed that Kolkata’s Gobordanga Mridangam theatre group will be performing a bengali play named, ‘Sesh Shikkha’ at Duliajan Theatre Festival. However, Pabitra Chetia, the Secretary of the Festival did not want to comment on the issue of ‘Purbaranga’. He just said that ‘Purbaranga’  might have got any problems with Tinsukia but at Duliajan nothing adverse actually happened.
