Central Library & Exam Branch of Assam Univ gets rare distinction of ISO 9001:2015 certificate

March 18: In a rare achievement, the Central Library and Examination Cell of Assam University, Silchar has been assigned the distinction of ISO 9001:2015 certificate by BSCIC Certifications. In the said certificate, it was stated that “ISO 9001:2015 certificate was awarded to the Central Library of Assam University for Acquisition, Organisation and Dissemination of the Library Services.” Further, the Examination Cell of the University was also assigned ISO certificate for “Conduct of Examinations, Result Declaration and Award Management.”

On Thursday, the ISO 9001:2015 certificate was handed over to the Controller of Examinations, Dr. Suprabir Dutta Roy and the Librarian of the varsity by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath in presence of the Registrar Dr. P.K. Nath and other officials. Expressing his views, Dr. Suprabir Dutta Roy expressed his happiness at this rare recognition and said that it is the result of the concerted hard work put in by his entire department and all those who are associated with the exam process.

ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard dedicated to Quality Management Systems (QMS). It outlines a framework for improving quality and a vocabulary of understanding for any organization looking to provide products and services that consistently meet the requirements and expectations of customers/ beneficiaries and other relevant interested parties in the most efficient manner possible.ⁱ The QMS is the aggregate of all the processes, resources, assets, and cultural values that support the goal of customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
