Pulwama attack: E-rickshaw owners association organises torch rally at Silchar

February 18: Massive protests and candlelight marches which began on Friday continued in different parts of the country against the Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 44 CRPF personnel. People took to the streets in large numbers and raised slogans against this inhuman act. Activists of different political parties, social groups and trader outfits joined common people during these demonstrations.

At Silchar, the E-rickshaw Owners Association also organised a torch rally at Silchar. They burnt the flag of Pakistan raising slogans against terrorism and Pakistan. Members of the Association paid their tribute and homage to the CRPF Jawans who gave the ultimate sacrifice on Thursday in the service towards nation.

Speaking to way2barak, Devesh Das and Gajendra Das, the President and Vice President of the Association respectively expressed deep grief at the Pulwana Terror attack. They offered their deep condolences to the bereaved family of the Martyrs. Ashish Das, General Secretary of the Association said, “We salute their heartfelt contributions in the service towards nation. Their sacrifice will not go in vain. We demand strong action against Pakistan.”

The 44 CRPF jawans who were martyred in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday were returning from leave. More than 2500 CRPF personel were travelling in a convoy of 78 vehicles when a Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed a SUV carrying 350 kg of explosives into a bus carrying the CRPF troopers. There were no survivors in the bus. The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
