Pulwama attack: District Administration Employees Union offer rich tributes to the martyrs

February 18: Massive protests and candlelight marches are held everyday in different parts of the country against the Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 44 CRPF personnel. Emotions ran high as protesters converged in various parts of Silchar also to express solidarity with the families of the martyrs. Activists of different political parties, social groups and trader outfits joined common people during these demonstrations.

In this connection, the central body of All Assam District Administration Employees Union had resolved to hold a mourning meeting in honour of the martyrs of Pulwama terror attack in all the districts of Assam at 11 AM. In this connection, the Cachar district committee of All Assam District Administration Employees Union also organised a mourning meeting in the premises of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.

A temporary martyr’s column was made inside the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. A minute silence was observed. Floral tribute was paid in the martyr’s column as a mark of respect towards those brutally killed in the terrorist attack. Laya Madduri, DC Cachar also offered floral tribute and stood beside the All Assam District Administration Employees Union in this noble endeavour.

Also present during the occasion were, ADC Rajib Roy, R.Dam, District Election Officer, Cachar district committee of All Assam District Administration Employees Union-Bikramjit Chakraborty, Pappu Yadav among others.

The 44 CRPF jawans who were martyred in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday were returning from leave. More than 2500 CRPF personel were travelling in a convoy of 78 vehicles when a Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed a SUV carrying 350 kg of explosives into a bus carrying the CRPF troopers.

There were no survivors in the bus. The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
