1 tests COVID-19 +ve in Cachar on Sunday; 1 death registered

March 21:  On Sunday, one new case of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 255 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive. However, none was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Sunday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,505.  Further, a total of 11,458 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 38 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 09 active cases in Cachar district.

Further during the day, a patient named Monahar Gorh (50) from Dayapur in Cachar died at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) due to tuberculosis and haemoptysis. This patient was also detected as COVID-19 positive.
