Postal ballot paper cell opens in Silchar

way2barak, April 14: In a significant move to facilitate the democratic rights of election duty personnel, the Cachar district administration has opened the Postal Ballot Paper Cell for the upcoming Panchayat Election 2025. This initiative ensures that officials engaged in poll duties do not miss out on casting their votes due to their election assignments.

The Postal Ballot Paper Cell has been set up at the office of the Circle Officer, Sadar Revenue Circle, Silchar. It serves as the dedicated center for all matters related to the issuance and submission of postal ballots. Government employees and others drafted for election duty who wish to vote through this system can visit the Cell to collect the required application form—Form No. IE—and gain clarity on the postal ballot process.

Eligible voters under this category will be able to cast their votes on the 22nd and 23rd of April, 2025. The Cell will operate daily from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., providing adequate time and support to the personnel fulfilling their duty to the nation.

To ensure smooth processing, applicants must submit their filled-in Form No. IE on or before the 21st of April, 2025. Timely submission is crucial, and any delay may result in forfeiting the opportunity to vote via postal ballot.

This initiative by the district administration reflects its commitment to upholding the democratic spirit, ensuring that those who safeguard the electoral process are themselves empowered to participate in it.

This is stated in a press release issued from Regional office of Information & Public Relations Barak valley Zone Silchar Assam .
