‘Pakistan Zindabad’: Cachar BJP organises protest march, burns effigy of Ajmal & Ripun Bora

Nov. 7: Cachar District Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a protest demonstration on Saturday morning as against the alleged “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan raised during the welcoming of AIUDF supremo Maulana Badar Uddin Ajmal at Silchar Airport on Thursday. The protest march started from near the district BJP office at Itkhola, Silchar.

Party leaders and supporters walked the street and arrived near the Goldighi Mall. Slogans were raised against Badar Uddin Ajmal, Pakistan and the Congress. Addressing the gathering BJP district President Kaushik Rai said, “We strongly denounce such anti-national slogans raised on Thursday in presence of AIUDF supremo Maulana Badar Uddin Ajmal. This is a black day in the history of the country. This is the time to save India from the hands of the miscreants. I do believe that police will soon identify the culprits who raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan.” He also denounced the Congress for forming an alliance with an ‘anti-national’ party like that of AIUDF.

Party Vice President Dipayan Chakraborty and General Secretary Kanad Purkaystha also criticised the anti-national activities involving the AIUDF. Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul also participated in the protest demonstration. Later on, effigies of AIUDF supremo Badar Uddin Ajmal and Ripun Bora were burnt at Premtola point.

Infact, a huge controversy have surfaced with allegations of “Pakistan zindabad” slogan by some supporters of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) at Silchar Airport on Thursday while greeting party chief and MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal. The incident have triggered protests across Assam and multiple FIR’s were lodged including one by Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy. The AIUDF, has, however, denied the allegation and said that party supporters raised the slogan of Aziz Khan Jindabad” (AIUDF MLA of South Karimganj) and not “Pakistan Zindabad” as claimed.
