Another COVID-19 +ve case in Karimganj, total in Assam 171

May 20: One new case of COVID19 positive was confirmed from Karimganj. The person was in the Quarantine Centre. This increased the number of the COVID-19 cases in Assam to 171. However, the number of active cases in the state stands at 116. The new COVID-19 positive person, a 24-year-old youth is a resident of Duhalia village at Faridkuna in Karimganj district. On arrival in Cachar, the youth was put under institutional quarantine facility in Cachar as per protocol. His swab samples were already collected. But when his swab reports came, it was positive. Later in the night, he was sent to COVID-19 ward at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).
