After Kejriwal, Baba Ramdev urge filmmakers to release ‘The Kashmir Files’ on YouTube now

March 27: A few days ago, taking a dig at the BJP for demanding to make the film “The Kashmir Files” tax-free, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Ask Vivek Agnihotri to put it on YouTube, it will all be free. Everyone will be able to see it in a day. Where is the need to make it tax free?” This has led to great uproar and BJP leaders and the actor Anupam Kher launched a sharp attack on CM Kejriwal and even termed him as ‘insensitive’, ‘anti-Hindu’ etc.

However, after Arvind Kejriwal, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has now come up with a somewhat similar demand. Baba Ramdev on Saturday has urged upon the makers of the film “The Kashmir Files” to release it on YouTube now so that everyone can learn about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in 1990. He further added that the film has done good business and earned handsome revenue and so it can now be uploaded online in YouTube and Facebook.

Baba Ramdev said this during an interview with news channel Times Now. Baba Ramdev said he does not speak the language of any political party. “I speak from the point of view of common people. I just want everyone to watch the movie.”

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also demanded to upload the movie on YouTube and proceeds earned from it should be spent for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday slammed the latest blockbuster The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri. He also addressed the BJP by saying, “Some people have earned crores in the name of Kashmiri Pandits and you have been given the work of just putting up the posters.”

Kejriwal also pointed out how a BJP leader from Haryana wanted to screen The Kashmir Files for free inside a park but Vivek Agnihotri tweeted about it to Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar asking to stop the free screening

Meanwhile, ‘The Kashmir Files’ maker Vivek Agnihotri and Anupam Kher also slammed Kejriwal for his remarks. Hitting back, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said: “Arvind Kejriwal was, is and will remain Hindu Virodhi. He made fun of Hindus in the Assembly today and AAP MLAs were clapping. You will be able to please your vote bank, but it is clear the Kashmir genocide happened because of people like you.” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also criticised his Delhi counterpart in strong words for demanding to release the movie in YouTube instead of making it tax-free.
