Nomination process for Municipal Election underway: Ward wise arrangements made at Government Boys’ H.S. School

way2barak, September 4: — The nomination process for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, 2026 commenced on September 2, 2026 at the designated venue of Government Boys’ H.S. School, Silchar. Candidates are required to submit their nomination papers between 11 AM and 3 PM during the prescribed nomination period.

For the convenience of candidates and to ensure smooth conduct of the nomination process, separate rooms have been designated for different groups of wards at the Government Boys’ H.S. School. Candidates contesting from Ward Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are required to submit their nomination papers at Room No. 1 on the Ground Floor, while candidates from Ward Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will submit their papers at Room No. 2 on the Ground Floor.

Similarly, Room No. 3 on the Ground Floor has been designated for Ward Nos. 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, while Room No. 4 on the Ground Floor has been allotted for Ward Nos. 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, while Room No. 5 on the Ground Floor has been designated for candidates from Ward Nos. 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25.

On the First Floor, Room No. 6 has been allotted for Candidates Ward Nos. 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. Candidates from Ward Nos. 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 will submit their nomination papers at Room No. 7, while Room No. 8 has been designated for candidates from Ward Nos. 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 and 42.

The ward wise allocation of rooms has been made to facilitate candidates and their representatives in completing the nomination formalities in an organised manner. Election officials and personnel are present at the designated venue to oversee the process and assist with the prescribed procedures.

The Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, 2026, covers all 42 wards of the corporation. Candidates intending to contest the election are required to complete the nomination process within the stipulated time and in accordance with the provisions and instructions issued by the competent election authorities.

All concerned candidates and their representatives are requested to take note of the designated rooms for their respective wards and adhere to the prescribed nomination timings while submitting their nomination papers.
