National Lok Adalat to be held in Cachar on May 9

way2barak, April 23: —–The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Cachar, Silchar, is set to organize a National Lok Adalat on May 9, 2026, across multiple court premises in the district, offering litigants a significant opportunity for expeditious and mutually agreeable resolution of cases.
The Lok Adalat proceedings will commence from 10:00 AM and will be conducted simultaneously at the District Court Campus, Family Court Campus, and Lakhipur Court Campus. A wide range of pending cases will be taken up during the session including civil cases special electricity cases, GR and PRC compoundable cases, cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, motor vehicle cases, matrimonial disputes, and MACT cases.

In addition to pending matters, pre-litigation cases relating to organizations such as APDCL, BSNL, and various banking institutions will also be addressed, enabling parties to resolve disputes even before they enter formal judicial proceedings.
All concerned parties who have received summons or notices in connection with the listed cases are urged to attend the Lok Adalat and take advantage of this platform to settle their disputes amicably through compromise. The initiative aims to reduce the burden on courts while ensuring quicker access to justice for citizens.
To facilitate smooth proceedings the DLSA Cachar will deploy trained conciliators at designated courts and booths to assist the parties in resolving their cases effectively.
