248 detected Covid positive in Cachar on Saturday & 96 discharged

There are 1,538 active cases in Cachar

Jan. 15: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually increasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 9.050 PM. As per the latest data, the daily Covid count in Cachar crossed the 200-mark on Saturday. A total of 248 persons were found positive in the district on 15 January. Also, 96 patients were discharged (16 from hospital & 80 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1.538, out of which, 1,377 are in home isolation whereas 161 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Friday, 476 persons were found positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,034 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 110 persons were found positive, whereas 138 were detected positive out of 373 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 2,220 whereas during this phase, 458 patients were discharged. This data was provided by the district health department from 12 noon of 14 January to 12 noon of 15 January, 2022. Further, a total of 5 persons died due to Covid in Cachar this year.

There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 14 January to 5 PM on 15 January) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 15 January, there were 42 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support, and 08 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 06 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 were discharged. At SMCH, 34 persons were detected positive in RAT test whereas, 19 were found RT-PCR positive. Further, 22 patients were shifted to Covid Care Centre and 22 patients opted for home isolation.
