Multi-storey building for parking of vehicles & road dividers could resolve traffic congestion: MLA Silchar

May 2: MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said on Monday that road dividers would be installed in different areas of Silchar soon to resolve traffic congestion, which has been a big problem in this town for years. He took part in the human chain and streamlined the traffic at Church Road, which experiences traffic snarls everyday. The human chain was formed like a divider so that traffic movement could take place in a disciplined manner.

MLA Chakraborty said that road dividers will be set up in Silchar soon. He said he has spoken about the project with chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and received a positive response from the CM. Besides, he spoke about complaints of illegal parking lots in Silchar regarding which the CM suggested that a multi-storey building for parking of vehicles could be built in the town to resolve the matter, Dipayan said.
