Mizoram to impose 2 weeks total lockdown from 9 June
June 8: Mizoram Chief Minister on Monday attended a consultative meeting on COVID-19 with MLAs, government officials, representatives of non-government hospitals, Church leaders, village and local councils members, task forces and NGOs. In that meeting, it was decided to impose 2 weeks total lockdown of the state with effect from midnight of 9 June, 2020 in view of the prevailing situation.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga in a tweet on Monday further announced that lockdown guidelines will be notified shortly. The Chief Minister further stated that the quarantine period in the state will be of 21 days instead of the usual 14 days in other states. Home quarantine option will be limited to only extreme unavoidable cases,” the chief minister tweeted.

Mizoram has so far registered a total of 42 COVID19 positive cases with 41 active cases. One person was earlier discharged after getting cured.
