BSF foiled smuggling of motorcycle parts worth Rs.1.19 lakh

November 26: The Border Security Force (BSF), M&C Ftr is continuing its drive against anti-social elements and illegal activities. Their round the clock activeness has again thwarted an attempt of smugglers who were trying to sell stolen motorcycle parts.

On Monday, acting on specific input provided by BSF Intillegence Wing, troops of BOP Fulkandi, Karimganj conducted a Special Search Operation near Iron gate No.15, in the vicinity of village Fulkandi near Indo-Bangladesh border. During the operation, troops recovered motorcycle parts hidden under the bridge meant for crossing the consignment to Bangladesh at an opportune time. The haul is worth nearly 1.19 lakh rupees.

However, due to the prompt action of the BSF troops, the nefarious design of the smugglers were foiled. It is worth mentioning here that BSF has increased its surveillance along Indo-Bangla border keeping in view the impending elections in Bangladesh. In recent past also, BSF has successfully conducted seizures worth lakhs of rupees including cattle, IMFL etc.This was informed in a Press Release issued by the Public Relation Officer of Ftr HQ BSF M&C.
