Master Trainers Deployed for Poll Personnel Training Ahead of Silchar Civic Election
way2barak, September 16:— Preparations for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, 2026 have entered an important training phase with the Personnel, Training etc. Cell detailing a team of Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) and Master Trainers to conduct training for polling personnel at Cachar College, Silchar.
According to an order issued on September 15 by D. Pathak, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, Cachar, Silchar, and in-charge of the Personnel, Training etc. Cell for the Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, the first phase of training will be held on September 17 and 19. The sessions have been scheduled in two shifts, with the morning session beginning at 10.30 am and the afternoon session at 1.30 pm.
The trainers have been allotted specific rooms at Cachar College and have been instructed to report at the training venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of their respective sessions. The training will focus on poll procedures and other responsibilities associated with the conduct of the municipal election, giving polling personnel an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the procedures to be followed on election day.
The group of trainers includes faculty members from G.C. University, Cachar College, Radhamadhab College, JNS College, Nehru College and Silchar Polytechnic, besides teachers and officials from various educational institutions and offices across Cachar district.
Among those detailed as ALMTs are Dr. Sumita Bhattachrajee, Dr. Rahul Kanti Nath and Debobrata Acharjee in Room 008; Dr. Avinoy Paul, Dr. A. Pushpalata Singh and Nabajyoti Choudhury in Room 009; and Dr. Meghamala Mahanta, Dr. Gongesh Bhattacharjee and Biplab Kanti Deb in Room 010.
Dr. Jaydeep Paul, Dr. Hemanta Kumar Bora and Swarnali Roy Choudhury have been assigned to Room 016, while Dr. Sudip Kumar Das, Dr. Sandip Debnath and Khaled Azam Mazumder will conduct training in Room 017.
Dr. Jaydeep Bhattacharya, Nirupam Mahanta and Dr. Bidhan Barman have been assigned to Room 106. Room 107 will have Dr. Pankaj Goswami, Kishore Kumar Deb and Surjasen Deb, while Dr. Swapan Das, Dipankar Das and Dr. Santosh Borah have been assigned to Room 108.
The order also provides for a reserve panel of ALMTs comprising Kiriti Bhusan Dey, Jogendra Chandra Das, Samarpan Nath, Dr. Dipankar Roy and Surojit Acharjee. The reserve trainers will be available as required during the training process.
The deployment of trainers from different educational institutions and government-linked establishments is part of the administrative arrangements being put in place ahead of the municipal poll. The sessions are expected to familiarise polling personnel with the practical requirements of election duty, including the prescribed polling procedure and responsibilities at the polling station.
With the first phase of training scheduled just days before the election, the exercise will also provide polling personnel an opportunity to clarify procedural issues before they are assigned their final election-day responsibilities. The detailed room-wise deployment is expected to help ensure that the training sessions are conducted in an organised manner across the designated venue.
The Silchar Municipal Corporation election is being conducted through a series of administrative and logistical preparations, with training of polling personnel forming a crucial part of the process. The September 17 and 19 sessions at Cachar College will mark the beginning of the first phase of the training programme.
