Earthquake strikes Mizoram & Nagaland on Thursday

June 25: Since Sunday, Mizoram has witnessed five earthquakes in as many days.. The quake measuring 4.5 in the Richter scale struck Champai district in Mizoram on Thursday at 1.14 AM. It needs mention here that a few hours earlier an earthquake had struck the same region. The quake occured at a depth of 136 kms. the jolts were also faced in some parts of Assam.

On Wednesday, an earthquake measuring 4.1 magnitude on Richter scale at Champai in Mizoram at 8.02 AM. While at 7.17 PM on Tuesday, a quake measuring 3.7 hit Lunglei district in Mizoram. On Monday, earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scake shook Mizoram’s Champai region. The state also experienced jolts measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale on Sunday at 4.16 PM.

Meanwhile, an earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale also struck Nagaland at 3.03 AM on Thursday.
