24 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Monday

Aug 23: A total of 24 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 4,158 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 22 persons were found positive, whereas 02 more were detected positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 07 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Sunday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 22 August to 5 PM on 23 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 23 August, there were 28 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 27 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 01 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support and 24 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 05 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
