Out of 130 crore people, only 1.5 crore pay income tax: PM Modi

August 14: On Thursday, during the launch of a new income tax platform, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a startling revelation. He said that only 1.5 crore people pay income tax in a country with 130 crore population. PM Modi said, “Those who are able to pay tax, but they are not in the tax net yet, they should come forward with self-motivation, this is my request and hope.”
