Guardian Secretaries appointed for 34 districts in the state of Assam

June 15: For successful implementation of the work of Guardian Minister, the Assam Government yesterday appointed 13 IAS officer as Guardian Secretaries for 34 districts in the state of Assam vide Govt.Notification No.AAI.16/ 2021/15, dated-14/ 06/2021.

The Assam Government has already appointed 13 ministers who would act as guardians for different districts in the state.These guardians, each a minister of the Assam Government, have been given the responsibility of 2-3 districs to take stock of welfare schemes, implementation of infrastructure projects etc.

As per cabinet decision, the guardian Minister and Secretary will have to visit their respective district at least once a month. They will also visit the district (specified below) during emergency situations, conduct extensive tours during disaster (Urban and Rural areas), and visit/inspect at least one circle office during their visit.
