DC Cachar emphasized on setting up of an amusement park on the banks of river Barak

August 5: A meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) was held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Cachar on Monday.  At the outset ADC Bikram Dev Sharma reviewed the progress being made in implementing the programme of Independence Day on 15 August, 2019.  In this connection, Mr. Dev Sharma instructed the officials concerned to complete all preparatory work two days prior to the ceremony.

DC Madduri, emphasized on setting up of an amusement park on the banks of the Barak River. Under the city infrastructure development fund (CIDF) the required amount will be spent on this project. The meeting emphasized accelerating the work of Silchar Bypass Road. It was informed that the subway approach road was elevated from Tarapur National Highway Road and its repair work was given to the Department of PWD Roads. Discussion was also held on the projects, such as, child labour and trafficking, progress in agriculture department works, and Beti Bachao Beti Padao and the like. 

Diary Development Officer informed that Milk producers under Dairy Cooperative Societies of Cachar are ready to supply milk. In this regard sensitisation meetings were already held. He further added that if funds under ONGC CSR is received, then the milk processing plant under Town Milk Supply Scheme, Silchar will be functional within 3 months.

At the meeting, District Transport Officer Siddhartha Shaikia said that a total amount of Rs. 92,000 has been collected so far from traffic law violators. Other issues like progress works of the mini secretariat and district library, management of solid and liquid waste were also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting  presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri was also attended by  Additional Deputy Commissioners Vikram Dev Sharma, Jessica Rose Lalsim,  Lalita Rangpipi, Assistant Commissioner Kim Changsen, Maria Tanim, Navanita Hazarika ,PD-DRDA Rasaraj Das.
