306 secondary & 45 higher educational institutes to be provincialised in Assam
February 6: State finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while presenting the budget in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday made certain important announcements in the field of secondary and higher education.
In his budget speech, minister Sarma said, “In pursuance of Hon High Court’s order, we enacted Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Teachers & Re-Organisation of Educational Institutions) Act, 2017 for provincialization of remaining venture educational institutions & services of employees of these institutions.”
The venture educational institutions covered by the Act have been scrutinized by District & State Level Scrutiny Committees and a total of 306 educational instns under Secondary Education Department & 45 edu insts under Higher Education Dept found eligible for provincialization

The minister further tweeted that, “The venture educational institutions covered by the Act have been scrutinized by District & State Level Scrutiny Committees and a total of 306 educational institutions under Secondary Education Department & 45 educational institutions under Higher Education Dept found eligible for provincialization.”
