163 active cases among policemen in Assam, 6 deaths registered in 2021

May 17: As of now, 163 policemen are undergoing treatment in different parts of Assam after being detected Covid-19 positive. Further, 346 of them have recovered during this 2nd wave of Covid-19. Another, 6 of them have breathed their last being infected by the coronavirus while discharging their duty. This was disclosed by Director General of Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta during a press meet in Guwahati on Monday.

With the imposition of stricter restrictions in order to curb the increasing coronavirus cases, Assam Police has jumped into action to oversee the obedience of the guidelines in all the districts. This time, Assam Police adopted a stern attitude in curbing violations of Covid protocols with a strong hand.
