78 found Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Friday, 141 discharged

June 25:  A total of 78 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 4,833 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 77 were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR test. Also, 141 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged during the day. At present, there are 1,476 active cases in Cachar district. It needs mention here that 96 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Thursday.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley for more than a month. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 24 June to 5 PM on 25 June) did not witness the demise of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. This is ofcourse a ray of hope that after more than a month, none died at SMCH being infected by coronavirus.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 25 June, there were 147 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 67 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 80 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 11 patients were put under ventilator support and 88 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 24 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged. 02 patients took admission in Covid Care centre.
