1 tests corona +ve on Tuesday; tally rises to 3,290 in Hailakandi

20 Oct: One fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 3,290. Health authorities here disclosed that only one positive case has been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 589 swab samples were taken on Tuesday out of which 87 are under RT-PCR and 502:under RAT.

Altogether 1,914 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,194 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases is 77. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 41 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation.

Of the 28,290 RT-PCR samples taken, 25,774 have tested negative. Swab results of 178 persons are awaited. Altogether 98,908 swab samples were taken out of which 28,900 are under RT-PCR and 70,618 under RAT.
