1 expelled from Baskandi during 1st day of HSLC exam in Cachar
February 10: The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or matriculation and the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations, 2020, began on Monday and will continue till 29 February, 2020. In Cachar district, one student was expelled from Baskandi Nena Miah High School for cheating during the examination. However, no other incident of adopting unfair means were reported from Cachar district during the 1st day of the exam.
Notably last month, SEBA chairman, R C Jain had said students caught cheating, carrying mobile phones and disobeying invigilators will face suspension up to next three years. The HSLC and AHM examinations are being conducted under CCTV cameras.
The district administrations have also imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in the examination centres so that no one can come within 100 metres barring candidates and those involved in the examination process.
In Cachar 20,450 number of students are appearing in the HSLC and 231 students will appear in AHM examination in all 34 center sof the District, i,e a total of 20, 681 students are appearing in the HSLC/AHM examination in the District in 2020. This year in Assam around 3,48,739 HSLC candidates and 9,707 AHM candidates is appering for the board examination in 860 centres.
