Deptt of Political Science of AUS to organise 2-day National Webinar on 6 – 7 August

July 24: The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic has diverse ramifications in every aspect of life. However, one important consequence of it is in international politics as it seems to have expedited the process of change in global politics. It is in this context that the Department of Political Science, Assam University, Silchar in collaboration with ICHR, new Delhi is going to organise a 2-day National Webinar on India-China Relations in Post-COVID-19 World on 6-7 August, 2020.

Speaking about the National Webinar, Prof. Joyati Bhattacharya, Webinar Coordinator and Head, Department of Political Science of Assam University, Silchar said, “A two-day national webinar is proposed to be organised with the objective to understand the future of India-China relations and the impact of the ongoing pandemic in shaping the dealings between the two Asian giants in the days to come.”

Webinar Co-cordinator Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty said, “Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor of Assam University has given his kind consent to be the Chief Patron of this National Webinar. There will be several sub-themes. Teachers, professionals, research scholars and PG students are invited to contribute papers in the webinar. For participation, one has to fill in the registration form on or before 3 August, 2020.

The invited speakers and key persons of the webinar are Prof. Alka Acharya from Centre for East Asian Studies, JNU; Dr. Om Jee Upadhyaya, Director, ICHR; Ambassador Achal Malhotra IFS (Retd.); Prof. Munmun Majumdar from NEHU, Roy Sagnik, Director TXYCO LTD, Cacnada and Dr. Avijit Banerjee, Adjunct Fellow, Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi.
