YASE demands enquiry for not hoisting National Flag by St. Vianmey School on R.Day
February 5: Youths Against Social Evils (YASE) on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar demanding a high level enquiry on the issue of not hoisting the National Flag on 26 January, 2020 during the Republic Day by Saint Vianmey School at Tikor Bhurunga under Katigorah constituency of Cachar district.
YASE President Sanjeeb Roy later on speaking to way2barak, said that this is indeed an anti-national act committed by the school. He further said that when YASE and many other organisations approached the school authority for knowing the cause of such disregard, the school authorities gave a bizarre reasoning. In their memorandum, YASE stated that the authority of St. Vianmey School said that as 26 January, 2020 was a Sunday so it was not possible for them to hoist the tricolour.
It is in this context that YASE has demanded immediate drastic action against the school authority so that such anti-national steps are not performed by any other institution in the future. Apart from Sanjeeb Roy, also present during the submission of the memorandum were Samsul Islam, Tirthankar Das, Prosonno Das among others. In the absence of the Deputy Commissioner, the memorandum was handed over to ADC Sumit Sattwan. A copy of the said memorandum was also forwarded to Inspector of Schools, Cachar.
