Dengue: DC Cachar directs to issue health advisory for school children
way2barak, Nov.13: In the wake of the rising cases of Dengue in the state, Rohan Kr.Jha, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar held a meeting on Friday on to review the preparedness of the district for Dengue management which was attended by Asutosh Deka, Addl. Deputy Commissioner (Health), Dr. Ashutosh Barman, JDHS, Kishan Chorei Tripura, Branch Officer (Health), CM&HO (CD), DSO (IDSP), DPM, VBD Consultant, VBD Specialist, RRT members etc.
During the meeting , the Deputy Commissioner directed the Health team to expedite the surveillance and awareness activities, source reduction activities in Silchar Municipal area and in rural areas. He also further instructed that the services of SW, MPW, ANM , ASHA and other FLWs are to be utilized for Dengue preparedness in the identified pockets of the district.
Instructions were also further given for extensive IEC activities to be taken up by Health Deptt. with support of DIPRO for widespread publicity. DSO (IDSP) was also directed to issue Health Advisory for school children and further, the DPHL at SM Dev Civil Hospital Silchar will be made functional within next week by Superintendent of SMDCH.
