As the lockdown 3.0 will continue till 17 May, so all educational institutions will remain automatically shut during this phase.

A Principal from a provincialised college in Barak Valley wishing to be unnamed said to way2barak that it will indeed be very difficult for the colleges with limited physical and human infrastructure to conduct examinations while adhering to the principles of social distancing. Moreover, as classes for the ongoing semester were disrupted, so still now major portion of the syllabus is yet to be completed. When asked about online classes, he said, “Look some of the teachers had taken online classes by forming WhatsApp groups, but in these groups some students only could be added and many were left over. So it will be an injustice to conduct examination based on what has been imparted online.”

Another retired Principal of a College from Silchar said, “There were no standardized parameters on conducting online classes. Course content imparted through online mode differed from college to college, department to department. Moreover, when more than 50 percent students could not be included in online groups, how can you conduct examination for all based on the classes taken for few.”
