Cachar gears up for grand rollout of Orunodoi 3.0 across 1,575 venues

way2barak, Oct 6: —In a remarkable stride towards financial inclusion and women’s empowerment, the District Administration, Cachar, is all set to ceremonially launch Orunodoi 3.0 across 1,575 venues on Tuesday, October 7 at 10:30 AM.
The flagship welfare initiative of the Government of Assam marks a major milestone as the first month’s assistance of Rs 1,250 will be directly credited into the accounts of 1,81,438 beneficiaries across the district. The ceremonial event will be connected to the statewide central programme, to be telecast live at all venues. Beneficiaries have been requested to remain present at their respective centres to witness the live telecast and participate in this historic state-wide welfare celebration.
To ensure smooth and uninterrupted execution, LAC-wise and Block and ULB-wise Nodal Officers have been deputed by the District Administration. Extensive arrangements have been made for drinking water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, and mobile medical units at each venue. The Superintendent of Police, Cachar, has also been requested to deploy mobile police teams across all locations to ensure proper law and order management throughout the event.
Reflecting the administration’s commitment to accuracy and transparency, the final verification of block-wise beneficiary data has been meticulously completed. As per the final figures updated through official correspondence on October 4, 2025, Cachar district records 1,81,438 eligible beneficiaries under Orunodoi 3.0, spread across its 19 administrative blocks. Among them, Silchar Municipal corporation accounts for the highest number with 29,192 beneficiaries, followed by Udharbond with 14,367, Borkhola with 12,991, Kalain with 12,489, and Dholai, Narsingpur with 12,121 beneficiaries. Significant numbers have also been recorded in Tapang 12,780, Katigorah 12,424, and Lakhipur 10,064 blocks, while Rajabazar, Palonghat, Binnakandi, and Sonai each contribute between eight and ten thousand beneficiaries. Smaller yet important contributions come from Rongpur, Banskandi, Borjalenga, and Silchar block, with numbers between six to seven thousand, and from Sonai Municipal Board, Badarpur Municipal board and Lakhipur Municipal Board, which record 2,563, 2,740, and 714 beneficiaries respectively.
Speaking on the eve of the launch, District Commissioner of Cachar, Mridul Yadav, IAS, said, “Orunodoi 3.0 embodies the compassionate vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, ensuring that the benefits of governance reach directly to the most deserving hands the women and families who form the backbone of our society. In Cachar, every effort has been made to make this rollout smooth, transparent, and inclusive. Our officers, field staff, and nodal teams are working round the clock to ensure that every beneficiary receives the assistance without any difficulty.”
He further added that the district administration has ensured all arrangements at ground level to make the launch day a grand success.

Meanwhile, officials of district administration cachar also emphasized that the reconciliation between the initial freeze data of 1,83,008 and the final verified figure of 1,81,438 reflects the government’s strong focus on transparency and the elimination of duplication. The drive ensures that only genuine and eligible households are brought under the purview of the new phase of Orunodoi 3.0.
As Cachar joins the rest of Assam in celebrating this massive welfare initiative, the launch of Orunodoi 3.0 stands as a testament to the Assam Government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth, clean governance, and people-centric administration, ensuring that every eligible family receives timely support and no household is left behind.
