Assam govt issues guidelines regarding recruitment & entrance exam for higher education
July 13: The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has come up with fresh guidelines regarding recruitment and entrance examination for higher education. These guidelines issued by Jishnu Barua, Chief Secretary on 13 July will come into effect from 14 July, 2021.
The new guidelines specified that requests have been received from various departments / organizations / agencies for conducting recruitment/ entrance examinations across the State on offline mode for the greater interest of the candidates. As such, in exercise of the powers, conferred under Section 22(2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Chief Secretary, in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, Assam, allowed to conduct recruitment and entrance examinations for higher education with the following directives w.e.f July 14, 2021.
1. Recruitment and entrance examinations for higher education are permitted across the State with strict adherence to maintenance of COVID-19 protocols including observance of COVID appropriate behaviour by all concerned.
2. The examinations should be conducted with 50% of seating capacity of the examination hall or 50 candidates whichever is lower. Also, not more than 200 candidates should be allowed to take examination at any center in a shift.
3. Such candidates appearing in the said examinations will be exempted from the restrictions on inter-district movement, movement during curfew hours, odd—even formula of vehicular movement in urban areas on production of valid admit card.
