COVID DIARY: The beginning, the peak, and a new life, writes

May 22: Corona is like the sleeping serpent in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone that works miracle when Harry is polite and suddenly charges at his audacious friend. It is quite a demanding disease that wants people sincerely to withdraw perhaps to relieve nature or re-live the green globe. Yes, we have turned the earth into a storehouse of debris and now we are paying for it.

Besides, those who have severe co-morbidity or whose age become a concerning factor, patients with COVID-19 can be treated. I lost my own sister in law in Guwahati because she neglected her early symptoms. So, let us promise not to hide, not to avoid and read the physical discomfort with full attention. With proper prescription and medication, we may overcome Covid. Let us be to an extent nature like:

  • Restrict our movement
  • Greet from a distance
  • Try to stay clean and fresh
  • Maintain all Covid protocols
  • Let us turn the world healthy and it is our collective commitment.

Corona can be controlled if proper medication starts without unnecessary delay.  Secondly, but primarily, a patient should study his/her physical discomfort with a scanning attitude. Even a single hour should not be wasted. I request all to consider this to be of maximum importance. Anyone for any given cause may be infected by COVID-19 virus and this fact should never be neglected. And thirdly, keep the mind strong and will power intact. These are two invisible sources of self- energy which support a person in his/her need. I am grateful to my husband, Sudipta Bijoy Dutta Choudhury who literally arranged my self-isolation, consulted doctor, procured medicine on a war footing. My heartfelt thanks go to way2barak for publishing my stray thoughts regularly.

Corona is the most unpredictable virus that has multi-transformed shapes. We are in the dark and our foe is expert in nocturnal fight. We miss blows, fail to identify and it stealthily crosses the threshold and then enters into our human frame. Never was sickness such a registered brand name and never was a person so confirmed about his/her possible ailment. The first wave left us unprepared while the second is a known enemy, so let us collectively stand together against this unpredictable prediction.

Postscript:

Her trial was tough
Efforts tougher though
I sensed her once again.

Look at freshness.
Love the radiant glow.
I saw my naughty squirrel once again.

They say nature’s roaring
Will be bountiful
I look for life again….
