3 more students of Assam successfully evacuated from Ukraine on Monday

March 7: With Russian attack on Ukraine, the later has closed its airspace making evacuation of the nationals from different countries difficult. It is in this backdrop that countries like India are trying alternative routes of evacuation. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed on Monday that three more students of the state who got stuck in Ukraine were successfully evacuated.

Taking to his twitter handle on Monday, Chief Minister Assam wrote, “Following efforts by MEA,3 more students from Assam – Surangana Dutta, Pratyashi Deka & Rajashree Boro – reached Delhi, where they were received by Assam Bhawan officials. Their travel to Guwahati is being arranged. So far, 104 students from Assam have been evacuated from Ukraine.”

Earlier on Sunday, six students of Assam, Sneha Deka (Guwahati), Mumshad Hujaef Uddin Ahmed (Nagaon), Ananya Das (Dibrugarh), Udit Bhattacharjee (Silchar), Devangan Barman (Silchar) & Ahmed Nur Emrul Kayes (Dhubri) were evacuated from Ukraine and brought to New Delhi.
