Gauri Shankar Roy Memorial Cricket Tournament to begin from 11 Feb at Silchar DSA

February 9: Gauri Shankar Roy Memorial 3rd Division Knockout Cricket Tournament will be organised by Silchar DSA from 11 February, 2020 at India Club ground, Silchar. In a press meet at DSA on Sunday, it was officially announced by General Secretary Bijendra Prasad Singh, Cricket Secretary Niranjan Das, Vice President Sujoy Dutta Roy, Treasurer Animesh Sen Gupta and Son of late Gauri Shankar Roy and Ex-District Cricketer Sanjeev Roy (Sponsor).

The cricket tournament is a part of the different programmes  undertaken up by the family of late Gauri Shankar Roy, to celebrate his Birth Centenary from 12 July, 2019 to 12 July, 2020.

Speaking during the occasion, Sanjeev Roy said, “I thank Silchar DSA for giving our family the opportunity to celebrate the centenary of my father in such a big and prestigious platform. A record 41 teams are taking part in the Cricket Tournament.” He further said that cash money apart from attractive trophies will be given to the teams.
