কুম্ভমেলায় আগুন, অল্পের জন্য বাঁচলেন বিহারের রাজ্যপাল
Bihar Governor narrowly escapes as fire broke out in his tent in Kumbh Mela

১৩ ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ অল্পের জন্য রক্ষা পেলেন বিহারের রাজ্যপাল লালজি ট্যান্ডন। মঙ্গলবার রাত আড়াইটা নাগাদ কুম্ভমেলায় আগুন লেগে যায়। তিন-তিনটি তাঁবু পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে গিয়েছে। পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, নিজের তাঁবুতে ঘুমুচ্ছিলেন ট্যান্ডন। সেইসময় তাঁবুতে আগুন ধরে যায়।

তবে মারাত্মক কিছু ঘটে যাওয়ার আগে, ঘুম থেকে তুলে তাঁকে  তাঁবু থেকে বার করে আনা হয়। নিকটবর্তী সার্কিট হাউসে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। প্রাণে বাঁচতে তাঁবুর মধ্যেই চশমা, মোবাইল ফোন এবং দরকারি জিনিসপত্র ফেলে বেরিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন লালজি ট্যান্ডন। আগুনে পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে গিয়েছে সেগুলিও। শর্ট সার্কিট থেকেই তাঁবুতে আগুন ধরে যায় বলে প্রাথমিক তদন্তের পর জানিয়েছে পুলিশ। তবে হতাহতের খবর নেই।

এ পর্যন্ত ৬-৭টি অগ্নিকাণ্ড ঘটেছে কুম্ভমেলায়। এর আগে সেক্টর ১৩তে-ও আগুন লেগেছিল। পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে গিয়েছিল একাধিক তাঁবু।

February 13: On Tuesday night, Bihar governor Lalji Tandon narrowly escaped a deadly fire that broke out in his tent at Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The Governor was rescued on time, however, his spectacles, wristwatch, and other valuables couldn’t be saved and were all burnt in the fire.

The tent caught fire at 2.30 am while Tandon was asleep. He was taken out safely at 3:30 am to Circuit House. There were no casualties in the incident. Three tents were gutted in the fire. The incident on Wednesday took place in the Triveni tent city where there were also a few guests from abroad The incident is believed to be caused due to a short circuit.

However, this is not the first incident of fire in Kumbh. There have 6-7 instances of fire in the Kumbh Mela. Earlier, a fire broke out at the one of the camps in sector 13 at the Kumbh Mela.
