Barak Valley Welfare Development Society celebrates I-Day in a befitting manner

August 16: Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (BVWDS), an NGO celebrated 74th Independence Day in a befitting manner. In the morning, the tricolour was unfurled at the office premises by the President of BVWDS, Gouranga Chanda along with all the other members and staff. Later on, they distributed sweets and chocolate  among the people and school going children.

This was followed by philanthropic activities. They went to different slum areas of Silchar town, like Malani bill, Kalibari chor, Tarapur railway colony and distributed masks, hand sanitizers, soap etc among them. They made them aware about COVID-19 pandemic.

Later on, they went to Ramnagar, Bilpar, Sonai Road and distributed masks, hand sanitizers, soap etc among truck drivers & helpers also among commercial drivers and helpers and general people for prevention against COVID-19.

The members present during the occasion are Puja Das, Gaurav Chanda, Sagarneel Sen, Mowsumi Choudhury, Sudipta Das Gupta, Sagar Gurung, Dilu Choudhury, Kailash Subbha, Monojit Ghosh, Samarendu Purakaystha   and Ram Bahadur Bhaji.
