Awareness session on ophidiophobia to be organised by Assam University on 2 Sept
way2barak, Sept.1: Ophidiophobia is an extreme, overwhelming fear of snakes. The condition is called a specific phobia (fear), which is a type of anxiety disorder. Ophidiophobia may be associated with herpetophobia, which is fear of all reptiles. Many people are somewhat fearful of snakes. Such phobia can only be overcome by having a complete knowledge about it.
In this connection, an awareness programme will be organised by Assam University, Silchar at Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium at 2 PM on 2 September, 2022. The resource persons of this programme entitled “Ophidiophobia: An Effort To Redress” will be Sumit Nath, Biswajit Singh and Bishal Sonar. They all are the students of former Head, Department of Ecology & Environmental Science, Assam University & a renowned environmentalist.
