Awareness Programme on Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships Held at Assam University
ফুলব্রাইট-নেহরু ফেলোশিপ নিয়ে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৩ এপ্রিল : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইন্টারনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসিওরেন্স সেল ও আসাম ইউনিভার্সিটি রিসার্চ স্কলার্স’ ফোরামের যৌথ উদ্যোগে বৃহস্পতিবার বিপিনচন্দ্র পাল মিলনায়তনে ‘ফুলব্রাইট-নেহরু ফেলোশিপ: ভারতীয় নাগরিকদের জন্য সুযোগ’ শীর্ষক এক সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি আয়োজিত হয়। এই কর্মসূচির মূল লক্ষ্য ছিল বিজ্ঞান, প্রযুক্তি ও ম্যানেজমেন্ট শাখার ছাত্রছাত্রী ও গবেষকদের ক্ষমতায়ন করা এবং যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে পিএইচডি ও পোস্টডক্টরাল গবেষণার সুযোগ সম্পর্কে একটি সুস্পষ্ট দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করা।

অনুষ্ঠানে পৌরোহিত্য করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভারপ্রাপ্ত উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক অশোক কুমার সেন। শিলচর ও ডিফু, উভয় ক্যাম্পাস থেকেই প্রচুর সংখ্যক অংশগ্রহণকারী উপস্থিত ছিলেন। স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন ড. প্রদীপ্ত দাস। আইকিউএসি’র ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক পীযূষ পাণ্ডে বর্তমানে গবেষণার কাজে সুইজারল্যান্ডে রয়েছেন। তিনি সেখান থেকেই অনলাইনে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষাগত সংযোগ বৃদ্ধির প্রতি অঙ্গীকারের কথা তুলে ধরেন। বিদ্যায়তনিক অধিবেশনে মূল বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইউনাইটেড স্টেটস-ইন্ডিয়া এডুকেশনাল ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রোগ্রাম ম্যানেজার ঝুলন ঘোষ। তিনি ফেলোশিপের আবেদন প্রক্রিয়া, যোগ্যতার মানদণ্ড এবং এর কৌশলগত গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে বিশদ ব্যাখ্যা প্রদান করেন।

সভাপতির ভাষণে অধ্যাপক অশোক কুমার সেন গবেষকদের স্থানীয় গবেষণাকে বৈশ্বিক প্রেক্ষাপটে উপস্থাপনের আহ্বান জানান এবং আন্তর্জাতিক প্ল্যাটফর্মকে কাজে লাগিয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষণার পরিধি বিস্তারের ওপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অধ্যাপক প্রণব বিহারী মজুমদার, অধ্যাপক অত্রি দেশমুখ্য সহ স্কলারস ফোরামের সহ-সভাপতি, সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও অন্য পদাধিকারীরা।

Way2barak, April 23 : An awareness programme on “Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships: Opportunities for Indian Citizens” was organized on Thursday at Assam University’s Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium. The event was jointly conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Assam University Research Scholars’ Forum.
The primary objective of the programme was to empower students and researchers from the fields of science, technology, and management, and to provide clear guidance on opportunities for pursuing PhD and postdoctoral research in the United States. The programme was presided over by the Incharge Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Asoke Kumar Sen. A large number of participants from both the Silchar and Diphu campuses attended the event. The welcome address was delivered by Prodipto Das.

Director of IQAC, Piyush Pandey, highlighted the university’s commitment to strengthening international academic collaborations. The keynote speaker for the academic session was Jhulan Ghosh, Programme Manager at the United States-India Educational Foundation. She elaborated in detail on the fellowship application process, eligibility criteria, and its strategic importance.

In his presidential address, Prof. Sen encouraged researchers to present local research in a global context and emphasized the need to leverage international platforms to expand the scope of the university’s research activities. Among others present at the programme were Pranab Bihari Majumdar, Atri Deshmukh, along with the Vice-President, General Secretary, and other office-bearers of the Research Scholars’ Forum.
