Assam University to reschedule exams due to panchayat polls

১১ নভেম্বর : আসন্ন পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের জন্য রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনের সচিবের এক চিঠির প্রেক্ষিতে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীনে থাকা কলেজগুলোর পরীক্ষা সূচি পরিবর্তনের চিন্তাভাবনা করছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ। এজন্য সোমবার বেলা ১২টায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এস এম আলি সভাকক্ষে রেজিস্ট্রার এক বৈঠক আহবান করেছেন। এই বৈঠকে বিভিন্ন কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ, আসাম কলেজ টিচার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের প্রতিনিধি ও সংশ্লিষ্ট আধিকারিকদের আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছে।

এ দিকে বরাক উপত্যকা টিডিসি ছাত্র সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রককে স্মারকপত্র প্রদান করে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের প্রেক্ষিতে আগামী ১৫ ডিসেম্বরের পর নতুনভাবে ওড সেমিস্টারের পরীক্ষার সূচি তৈরি করার অনুরোধ জানানো হয়েছে। টিডিসি ওড সেমিস্টারের পরীক্ষা আগামী ২৬ নভেম্বর থেকে শুরু হওয়ার কথা রয়েছে।

ছাত্র সংস্থা বলেছে, ইতিমধ্যেই গ্রামাঞ্চলে ভোটের দৌড়ঝাঁপ শুরু হয়ে গেছে। ধীরে ধীরে তা আরও জোরদার হবে। এ অবস্থায় পরীক্ষায় বসতে পড়ুয়াদের সমস্যা হবে। তারা সব পরীক্ষাই নির্বাচনের ফলাফলের পর করানোর দাবি জানিয়েছেন।

এখানে উল্লেখ করা যেতে পারে যে, এই বৈঠকের পর নতুন পরীক্ষার সূচি ঠিক হলে তা পাওয়া যাবে ওয়ে টু বরাক পোর্টালে। তাই নতুন সূচি জানতে চোখ রাখুন ওয়ে টু বরাকে।

November 12: In pursuance of the letter received from the Secretary, Assam State Election Commission, Dispur vide letter No. SEC.24/2017/111 dated 29 October 2018 and the subsequent letter issued by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam on 1 November 2018 regarding holding of ensuing Panchayat Election 2018 and rescheduling of annual and other examinations, Assam University, Silchar is to contemplating to reschedule its semester examinations.

In this regard, Assam University has convened a meeting of the representatives of the Assam College Principals’ Council (ACPC), Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) and other concerned officials of the University on 12 November. A notification in this regard was issued by the Registrar of the University on 9 November.

TDC ODD Semester Examinations, 2018 was earlier scheduled to be held from the last week of November 2018. However, as the Assam State Election Commission has requested to reschedule the examinations after 15 December 2018 as many of the polling stations and also strong rooms and counting halls are located in schools and college buildings, so it is highly probable that the odd semester examination will be deferred.
