Assam University organizes disaster management program
দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলার কৌশল শেখাতে কর্মসূচি আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১০ সেপ্টেম্বর : ভূমিকম্প কিংবা অগ্নিকাণ্ড, যে কোনও বিপর্যয়ে শুধু নিজেকেই নয়, অন্যদেরও কীভাবে রক্ষা করতে হয়, তা শেখাতে এক সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করলো আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। সমাজকর্ম বিভাগের উদ্যোগে গতকাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কেন্দ্রীয় বিদ্যালয়ে আয়োজিত এই কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেয় ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম শ্রেণির মোট ১৭৯ জন পড়ুয়া। যোগ দেন বিদ্যালয়ের পনেরো জন শিক্ষক-শিক্ষাকর্মীও।

এদিন পড়ুয়াদের দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলার কৌশল শেখাতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সার্কল কুইক রেসপন্স টিম ও ন্যাশনাল ডিজাস্টার রেসপন্স ফোর্সের কুড়ি জন সদস্য। নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন এনডিআরএফ ইনস্পেক্টর অজয় কুমার যাদব ও সাব-ইনস্পেক্টর বিদ্যাদত্ত শর্মা। সমাজকর্ম বিভাগ থেকে সহযোগিতায় ছিলেন সত্যজিৎ রায়, সুচরিতা পুরকায়স্থ ও মনসুর বড়ভুঁইয়া।

কারিগরি অধিবেশনে স্কুল ব্যাগ, টেবিল ও চেয়ার ব্যবহার করে ভূমিকম্প হলে কী করণীয়, তার কৌশল শেখানো হয়। সেইসঙ্গে ভবন ধসে পড়লে আহতদের কীভাবে উদ্ধার করতে হয়, তাও দেখিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। এক্ষেত্রে দু’জন তিন হাত ও তিন জন চার হাত পদ্ধতি প্রদর্শন করা হয়। শেখানো হয় অগ্নিকাণ্ডের সময় কীভাবে আহতদের নিরাপদে বহন করার কৌশল। কম্বল, চালের বস্তা কিংবা টি-শার্ট ব্যবহার করে দেখানো হয় স্ট্রেচার তৈরির পদ্ধতিও।

উদ্বোধনী পর্বে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন কেন্দ্রীয় বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক রাজেশ কুমার যাদব। উদ্দেশ্য ব্যাখ্যা করার পাশাপাশি এধরনের সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি আয়োজনের প্রয়োজনীয়তা নিয়ে বক্তব্য রাখেন সমাজকর্ম বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. রত্না হুইরেম। প্রাসঙ্গিক বক্তব্য পেশ করেন বিভাগীয় প্রধান অধ্যাপক তরুণ বিকাশ সুকাই ও বিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যক্ষ ড. রবীন্দ্র প্রতাপ সিং। শেষে ধন্যবাদ সূচক বক্তব্য রাখেন সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. কাথিরেসান।

Way2barak, September 10 : Assam University organized an awareness program to teach students how to protect themselves and others from any disaster. A total number of 179 students from classes 6 to 10 participated in this program, which was organized by the Social Work Department at the University’s Kendriya Vidyalaya yesterday. Fifteen teachers and employees from the school also joined.

Twenty members of the Circle Quick Response Team and National Disaster Response Force were present to teach students disaster preparedness strategies. NDRF Inspector Ajay Kumar Yadav and Sub-Inspector Vidyadatta Sharma were leading the program. Satyajit Roy, Sucharita Purkayastha and Mansur Barbhuiya were in support from the Social Work Department.

In the technical session, strategies on what to do in the event of an earthquake were taught using school bags, tables and chairs. Along with this, how to rescue the injured in case of building collapse was also shown. In this case, two-man three-hand and three-man four-hand methods were demonstrated. Techniques for safely carrying the injured during a fire were taught. The method of making a stretcher using blankets, rice sacks or T-shirts was also shown.

In the inaugural session, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, a teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya, delivered the welcome speech. In addition to explaining the purpose, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work Dr. Ratna Huirem spoke about the need for organizing such awareness programs. Relevant speeches delivered by Head of the Department Professor Tarun Bikash Sukai and Principal of the school Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh. At the end, Associate Professor Dr. Kathiresan delivered the vote of thank.
