Assam govt inaugurates 6 soil testing & quality control lab and 2 knowledge centres

way2barak, Nov.16: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday participated in the  Ceremonial Distribution of Agriculture Machineries & Inputs and Launching of Assam Millets Mission at Veterinary Playground, Khanapara.

CM Dr Sarma inaugurated 6 soil testing & quality control lab and two knowledge centres, to help become self- sufficient in agriculture. Also present during the inauguration were Cabinet Ministers Atul bora, Ranjeet Kr Dass, Jayanta Mallah Baruah, Sanjay Kishan and MLA Atul Bora and Chairman, Assam State Agriculture Marketing Board, Manoj Baruah.

The Chief Minister during the day also launched Assam Millet Mission, targeted to raise nutrition quotient & doubling farmers’ income. To increase productivity, it will also contribute in crop diversification. He also distributed power tillers, pump sets, mini trucks, harvesters, crop seeds, financial aids among beneficiaries.
