As river water recedes, repair work of dyke at Bethukandi on in full swing: MP Dr Rajdeep Roy
June 27: The recent devastating flood in Silchar town has caused much sufferings of the people. The water from river Barak rushed inside the town at a high speed through the broken dyke at Bethukandi. However, as the water level of Barak has now started to recede, the state government has jumped into action to bridge the breach at Bethukandi dyke.
Informing this, Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy on Monday night informed that the repairing work of the breach at Bethukandi dyke in Berenga has been going on in full swing on Monday night. Geo bags which were sent due to the initiative of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma were unloaded at the dyke breach site on a war footing.
