476 detected Covid positive in Cachar on Friday & 113 discharged

There are 1,386 active cases in Cachar

Jan. 14: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually increasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 6.50 PM. As per the latest data, the daily Covid count in Cachar crossed the 400-mark on Friday. A total of 476 persons were found positive in the district on 14 January. Also, 113 patients were discharged (08 from hospital & 105 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1.386, out of which, 1,268 are in home isolation whereas 118 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Thursday, 325 persons were found positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,125 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 285 persons were found positive, whereas 191 were detected positive out of 549 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 1,699 whereas during this phase, 362 patients were discharged. This data was provided by the district health department from 12 noon of 13 January to 12 noon of 14 January, 2022. Further, a total of 5 persons died due to Covid in Cachar this year.

There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 13 January to 5 PM on 14 January) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 14 January, there were 42 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support, and 11 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 were discharged. Further, 03 patients were shifted to Covid Care Centre.
