Kali Puja Committee of PWD Road at Ward No 25 completes 26 glorious years

Nov. 17: Be it Durga Puja or Kali Puja, many such organising committees in Barak Valley has already completed 25 years of its existence. A similar journey of 26 glorious years was passed by the Kali Puka Committee of PWD Road at Ward No 25, Silchar. This year, the said Puja pandal was formally inaugurated by Mitali Das, District general Secretary of International Human Rights Organisation on 14 November.

It needs mention here that this committee started performing Kali Puja in the year 1994 due to the initiative of Late Rakesh Chandra Bhattacharjee and Pijush Kanti Chakraborty. Speaking during the inauguration of the Puja pandal, Mitali Das lauded the efforts of the Kali Puja Committee in keeping upto its rich tradition.
