48 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Tuesday, 92 discharged & 1 death at SMCH

June 29: Karimganj registered 48 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. The district has currently 696 active COVID-19 cases, while 92 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Tuesday. 4,297 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 45 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Monday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley for more than a month. But for two consecutive days, Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) did not witness the demise of any Covid-19 positive patient. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 28 June to 5 PM on 29 June) witnessed demise of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at SMCH. The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Rajlakshmi Sharma (47) from Bajaricherra in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 27 June. She however, passed away at 8.30 PM on 28 June.
