New Rotary year to begin from 1 July: Rtn. Harkishore Chanda appointed as Asstt Governor for Zone 11

June 28: As per the tradition of Rotary International, every year the new Rotary year starts from 1 July and ends on 30 June.This year it is very special year for Rotary India as because the Rotary International President is from India and so there will be lots of developmental work for the benefit of underprivileged people with the presidential theme “Serve to change lives”. Rotary is a 116-year-old international organization spread over 200 countries with 1.2 million members.

As per the geographical boundary of Rotary International, the District 3240 with 12 zones is spread over Northeast and some parts of West Bengal with 100 clubs. It is worthy mentioning that from Zone-11 Rtn. Harkishore Chanda of Rotary Club of Hailakandi has been appointed as Assistant Governor by District Governor Rtn Dr. Mohan Shyam Konwar for the 1st time from Rotary Club of Hailakandi to lead the 14 clubs of Zone-11 spreading over Tripura, Barak Valley and Mizoram.

This year Rotary will give specially emphasis on membership growth, the Rotary Foundation, Rotary’s Public image, Women Empowerment and service projects in line with Rotary’s seven areas of focus. The Rotary’s seven areas of focus are basic education and literacy, economic and community development, maternity and child health, disease prevention and treatment, peace and conflict resolution, water and sanitation and support environment.

On 1 July, every president elect of Zone -11 will officially take over the charge from their immediate past presidents of respective Clubs. This year every club under Zone 11 will cut shot their installation ceremonies  maintaining Covid protocols.

Dr. Biplab Nath, Rotary Club of Agartala city, Dr. Swapan Bhaumik, Rotary club of Agartala, Mintu Chakraborty, Dharmanagar club, Dr.Abhijit Ghosh, Unakoti Club, Saumyabrata Dutta, Karimganj Club, Biswajit Nath,Rotary Club of Borderland Karimganj, Kanhaiya Sarda, Hailakandi, Gautam Paul,Silchar Club, Budhmal Baid, Greater Silchar, Jayasree Kar, Silchar Pink, Lutfa Ara Choudhury, Silchar Central, Mukesh Bagaria, Greenland Silchar and Sanjana Barauh of Aizawl will lead their respective clubs as President from 1 July, 2021 to 30 June, 2022.
