Covid-19 Help Desk started for information on patients undergoing treatment at SMCH

Covid Help Desk will remain open on all days of the week from 8 AM to 10 PM

June 6: Very often, people feel scared to get admitted in hospitals after being detected as Covid positive. It is a common perception among many that once a patient is admitted in the Covid ward/Covid ICU of SMCH or any other hospital (either govt or private), it becomes almost impossible for the family members of the patient to know about the daily status of their patient. This anxiety compels many to take the risk of opting for home isolation inspite of the risks involved in it. To allay such fear and apprehension and to provide information on Covid-19  patients undergoing treatment available to their family members, a Help Desk has been formed by Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bikash Sandilya, Deputy Superintendent of SMCH.

As such, a duty roster for doctors of SMCH in relation to Covid Help Desk was constituted which would come into effect from 6 June, 2021. A notification to this effect was issued by the Superintendent of SMCH on 5 June, 2021. JI Laskar, Demonstrator Pharmacology and Dr. A.
