SP Cachar supervise Covid testing done at Silchar Railway Station

May 25: Nimbalkar Vaibhav Chandrakant, the Superintendent of Police, Cachar went to Silchar Railway Station on Monday to supervise the ongoing Covid testing being done over there. As per the guidelines issued by the state government, all passengers travelling by railways must get tested for Covid-19 in the railway stations of Assam. The Police Super reviewed the proper implementation of Covid protocols along with DSP DSB and In-charge of Tarapur Police Outpost.

A total of 668 new cases of COVID-19 was reported on Sunday in Cachar. This is the highest single day spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the district since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020. As per the updated data, a total of 7,297 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 459 persons were found positive, whereas 209 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 2,569. Also, 274 patients were discharged during the day. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 06 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).

A few days back, iIn a proactive step to curb crimes, Nimbalkar Vaibhav Chandrakant, the new Superintendent of Police Cachar has urged upon the people to report any illegal activity (with photo/ video on WhatsApp) in his official mobile number 6026900230. He further informed that the identity of the person providing such information will be kept secret.
