With 47 more Covid-19 +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 169 on Monday; 3 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 668 in Cachar

May 3: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 10.45 PM. As per the latest data, 47 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 169 persons were found positive in the district on 3 May. This is the highest single day spike in 2021. Earlier, at 7 PM, it was informed that 122 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has now gone up to 668. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Sunday was 148.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,808 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 112  persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 57 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night. With this, the district tally of coronavirus cases has gone upto 13,119. Again,12,302 patients till now were cured and discharged. 74 persons were discharged on Monday.

Three more deaths were registered at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday. Out of the three, one of them is from Cachar, while the rest two are from Karimganj district. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday. The three deceased are: Pinak Pani Chakraborty (77), Mrinal Kanti Dey (58) and Debobala Sinha (57). As per protocol, their death details have been forwarded to the State Death Audit Board in Guwahati for final certification of Covid or non-Covid death.

Apart from This Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed informed that out of the 668 active patients, 81 of them are admitted at SMCH, 08 in MH, 13 at SMDCH, 29 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital, 02 at CRPF Doyapur and 14 at Gracewell Nursing Home. Further, 521 patients are in home isolation.
